I guess I have to explain what happened. This is all head canon but no, in my head Romano is alive and REAL forever!

Romano disappeared cause they didn't need two personification of Italy. Heck, everybody calls Feliciano as Italy and Romano as plain Romano or Italy's brother.

I always thought that the reason Rome decided to split Roma and Feli was to make Romano survive. Rome told little Romano that he would die if he unites with Feliciano so the two got raised separately. Romano hated his brother because he was chosen to be Italy while he was destined to disappear someday so why does he need to scrub Spain's floor or do chores or learn manners? Thus he rebelled and that is the cause of his bad attitude.

Romano would purposefully be mean and make Feli stay away but being the persistent Northern Italian, Feli clings hard like super glue. Somehow they became closer through the years and united. Uniting was all Feli's idea but even though Romano knew there was a chance that he would disappear, he went along with it. After that, he knew he would soon disappear so he let Feli do all the work. Romano slacks off, avoid world meetings and holes himself in his house in his tomato garden.

Everybody calls Feli as 'Italy' already and nobody calls Romano-- Italy. As a nation, having nobody believe in him had an effect in his existence so he had to disappear and play poker with the old Ancient dudes in a place called History.


Okay, that's kinda a summary of a fanfic already. Hahaha
